AN ORDER OF SERVICE FOR DIVINE WORSHIP; DESIGNED FOR PRIVATE DEVOTIONS, FAMILY GATHERINGS AND CHURCH MEETINGS.

A Call To Worship

Moses wrote in Psalm 90:1,2: “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”

Hymn—“His Lovingkindness, O How Great”

Scripture Reading—Psalm 93:1-5

”The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.”

——————————-
The series of studies on the book of Genesis will resume in September.
Some of the points covered in this sermon:
• Reviewing the theme and structure of Psalm 93—the absolute sovereignty, eternal decree and providential governance of the Lord
• Considering whether Psalm 93 is a prophetic Psalm, depicting the redemptive work of Christ
• Presenting new structural notes from the standpoint of the gracious covenant, with particular emphasis on the redeeming grace of Christ
• Aligning the prophetic statements of the Psalm with the framework of sovereign grace

Hymn—“To God Be The Glory”

Closing Prayer

Benediction

May the Lord bless you, and keep you; may the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; may the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen.
