{"id":1380,"count":4,"description":"Samuel Trott (1783-1866) was an American Primitive Baptist preacher. He was appointed pastor of the Welsh Tract Baptist Church, Newark, Delaware. In 1832, he drafted the Black Rock Address which drew a line between the Hyper and Moderate Calvinists. The Hypers assumed the name \u201cOld School\u201d while the Moderates were called \u201cNew School\u201d. The Schools were based on the writings of two English theologians\u2014John Gill (1770\u2019s), representing the Old School; Andrew Fuller (1780\u2019s), representing the New School.
