He is best remembered for \u201coriginating that system of sending out lay preachers which was subsequently adopted by Mr. Wesley, so he seems to have anticipated in some measure the Experience Meetings which form so prominent a feature of Methodism.\u201d He was also an early influencer of John Gill during his youth. \r\n","link":"https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/category\/richard-davis\/","name":"Richard Davis","slug":"richard-davis","taxonomy":"category","parent":0,"meta":[],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories\/1603","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/taxonomies\/category"}],"wp:post_type":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts?categories=1603"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
