Looking at the CERTAINTY of God-Justification (Romans 8:28-39).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Subject of God-Justification dealt with by Paul in Romans (3:19-5:21), from standpoint of the Son\u2019s role in work of salvation; dealt with again in (8:28-39), from standpoint of Father\u2019s role in work of salvation. Christ is the Author of REDEMPTION; Father is the Author of JUSTIFICATION. However, it is quite clear the \u201call things\u201d of verse 28 refer to \u201call these things\u201d in verses 35-39, therefore including everything which comes to pass in time.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Verses 31-34 is the heart of the passage, around which verses (28-30) and (35-39) revolve<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 EXPOUND TEXT\u2014ROMANS 8:31-34<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20538\" src=\"https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Romans-831-34.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Romans-831-34.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Romans-831-34-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Romans-831-34-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Romans-831-34-500x375.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Romans-831-34-800x600.jpeg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The certainty of a sinner\u2019s justification is guaranteed by the Father sending His Son to redeem him\/her from the curse of the law, after which the Son returning to the Father making intercession for them<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 God-Justification is not conditioned on the sinner\u2019s faith\u2014the sinner is freely justified by the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, the work of which is pledged by the Son from eternity (under the terms and promises of the covenant of grace), at which point He becomes the sinner\u2019s surety and the Father justifying him\/her on that basis<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The idea of a universal atonement, whether in reality (as put forth by the Arminians) or hypothetically (as put forth by the Moderate(Modified)-Calvinists), is a perversion of the gospel and dishonoring to the Father and the Son<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The atonement of Christ, together with the full scope of His redemptive work, is specially designed and particularly procured for the elect alone\u2014it is this which makes the sinner\u2019s justification certain (\u201dI am the good Shepherd, and know My sheep\u2026and I lay down My life for the sheep\u201d; \u201csuch as should be saved\u201d)<\/p>\n<div class=\"simplefavorite-button\" data-postid=\"20535\" data-siteid=\"1\" data-groupid=\"1\" data-favoritecount=\"0\" style=\"box-shadow:none;-webkit-box-shadow:none;-moz-box-shadow:none;\"><div class=\"bookmark-off\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Having not the time to prepare a transcript for this teaching video, I submit the short notes used at the recording desk\u2014Jared Smith<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Previous study\u2014(1) The unregenerate sinners, under the authority of the covenant of works, attempt to atone for their sins by earning favor with God through self-justification;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 This Study\u2014(2) The regenerate sinners, under the authority of the covenant of grace, have their sins atoned for by Christ through God-justification.
