1 Christ is the eternal Rock,
\nOn which His church is built;
\nThe Shepherd of His little flock;
\nThe Lamb that took our guilt.<\/p>\n
2 Our Counsellor, our Guide,
\nOur Brother, and our Friend;
\nThe Bridegroom of His chosen bride,
\nWho loves her to the end. <\/p>\n
3 He is the Son to free;
\nThe Bishop He to bless;
\nThe full Propitiation He;
\nThe Lord our Righteousness.<\/p>\n
4 His body\u2019s glorious Head;
\nOur Advocate that pleads;
\n\u2028Our Priest that prayed, atoned and bled,
\nAnd ever intercedes. <\/p>\n
5 Let all obedient souls,
\nTheir grateful tribute bring,
\nSubmit to Jesus\u2019 righteous rules,
\nAnd bow before the King. <\/p>\n
6 Our Prophet, Christ, expounds,
\nHis and our Father\u2019s will;
\nThis good Physician cures our wounds,
\nWith tenderness and skill. <\/p>\n
7 When sin had sadly made,
\n\u2018Twixt wrath and mercy, strife,
\nOur dear Redeemer dearly paid,
\nOur ransom with His life.<\/p>\n
8 Faith gives the full release,
\nOur Surety for us stood;
\nThe Mediator made the peace,
\nAnd signed it with His blood.<\/p>\n
9 Soldiers, your Captain own,
\nDomestics, serve your Lord;
\nSinners, the Savior\u2019s love make known,
\nSaints, hymn the incarnate Word.<\/p>\n
10 The Witness sure and true,
\nOf God\u2019s good will to men,
\nThe Alpha and the Omega too,
\nThe First and Last. Amen.<\/p>\n
11 Poor pilgrims shall not stray,
\nWho frightened flee from wrath;
\nA bleeding Jesus is the way,
\nAnd blood tracks all the path.<\/p>\n
12 Christians in Christ obtain,
\nThe Truth that can\u2019t deceive;
\nAnd never shall they die again,
\nWho in the Life believe.<\/p>\n
