{"id":7431,"date":"2021-10-15T00:07:47","date_gmt":"2021-10-15T00:07:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/?p=7431"},"modified":"2023-05-17T07:09:08","modified_gmt":"2023-05-17T07:09:08","slug":"the-rule-of-obedience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.baptists.net\/history\/2021\/10\/the-rule-of-obedience\/","title":{"rendered":"The Rule Of Obedience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"drop-cap\">If the gospel is no rule of obedience (as numbers declare), I am at a loss to know what the apostle means when he says, \u201cThe mystery which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest, and by the Scriptures of the prophets; according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known unto all nations for the obedience of faith.\u201d (Rom 16:25) It is by faith \u201cwe wait for the hope of righteousness.\u201d (Gal 5:5) We are \u201csaved by grace, through faith.\u201d (Eph 2:8) The word does not profit, if not \u201cmixed with faith.\u201d (Heb 4:2) \u201cFaith is the substance of things hoped for.\u201d (Heb 11:1) \u201cThe righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith.\u201d (Rom 1:17) God purifies our hearts by faith. (Acts 15:9) Saints are comforted together, by their mutual faith. (Rom 1:12) We are made \u201cstrong in faith,\u201d in order to give glory to God. (Rom 4:20) \u201cWe have access by faith.\u201d (Rom 5:2) \u201cWe walk by faith.\u201d (2 Cor 5:7) We stand by faith. (Rom 11:20) We live by faith. (Gal 3:2) Faith works by love. (Gal 5:6) Our victory over the world is by faith.
